Oregon Surgical Institute (OSI) has been recognized as one of America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers 2027, an annual recognition presented by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista.
The 2027 list recognizes ambulatory surgery centers based on four data sources: quality metrics with a focus on surgical indicators, recommendations and quality assessments from peers through a national online survey, patient experience survey results and accreditation data.
“This recognition reflects the commitment our entire team brings to providing exceptional care for every patient who comes through our doors,” said Erin McKay, M.S.N., R.N., C.N.M.L., C.A.S.C., Administrator at Oregon Surgical Institute. “We’re proud to be recognized among America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers. It reinforces our commitment to advancing outpatient surgery while providing a safe, coordinated and personalized experience for every patient we serve.”
Since opening in 2018, OSI has focused on changing outpatient surgery for the better by bringing together experienced surgeons, specialized clinical teams, advanced technology and coordinated patient care in a facility designed specifically for complex outpatient procedures.
A Patient-Centered Approach to Outpatient Surgery
OSI’s approach is centered on providing patients with a coordinated surgical experience from preparation through recovery. Physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists and other clinical professionals work together to support each patient throughout their care.
By combining specialized clinical expertise with a facility designed for outpatient surgery, OSI works to provide an experience that supports patients not only on the day of their procedure, but throughout their surgical journey.
That experience is reflected in the stories shared by OSI patients. After undergoing a hip replacement at OSI, patient Jan described the preparation and support she received throughout the process: “We had a lot of education about the process…I felt very supported by OSI.” Other patients have shared stories of returning to activities ranging from traveling and spending time with grandchildren to rock climbing and yoga following their procedures.
A Continued Focus on Quality and Experience
The America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers 2027 recognition reflects areas that are central to OSI’s approach to care, including quality and patient experience.
As outpatient surgery continues to evolve, OSI remains focused on providing patients with high-quality surgical care in an environment designed around their needs. Through its clinical teams, technology, patient education and coordinated approach to care, OSI continues working to improve the surgical experience and help patients return to the activities that matter to them.
