Omar Halawa, MD, MS
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Halawa is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He brings a wealth of expertise in utilizing the most advanced ultrasound-guided regional techniques (nerve blocks) and advanced pain medicine principles to deliver the best surgical experience for his patients. He possesses a deep understanding of the complexities involved in managing postoperative pain and strives to provide each patient with an optimized pain pathway.
Dr. Halawa attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he majored in Biostatistics and minored in Math/Chemistry. He then headed to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his M.S. in Bioinformatics before heading back to Chapel Hill to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Halawa completed his Anesthesiology Residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) before heading to the University of California – San Diego to complete an Interventional Pain Fellowship. He loves his family, the Oregon Coast, and going on medical missions including most recently to Ethiopia.
