Orthopedic Care Coordinator

Julie graduated from University of Portland in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She started her nursing career at Meridian Park Medical Center and found her love of orthopedic patients. She became an Orthopedic Coordinator in the hospital setting in 2008, helping to guide patients through their joint replacement and spine surgeries. Julie has been a member of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses since 2008. In 2011, Julie earned her Orthopaedic Nurses Certification and has remained devoted to continuing education in orthopedics. In 2017, Julie joined Jenny and Sarah in creating the Total Joint Program at Oregon Surgical Institute and worked on-call at OSI once the doors opened in the spring of 2018. Julie transitioned from her full-time job in the hospital to Oregon Surgical Institute in early 2020. Together with her fellow coordinators, Julie has presented a poster at the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses annual conference and also presented a live webinar sharing how the total joint program at Oregon Surgical Institute functions to provide excellent patient care efficiently through the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses in 2022.

In her spare time, Julie can often be found reading, camping with her family, and coaching youth volleyball.
